Parents and Guardians

Parents and guardians play a key role in the life of the community in the College and we welcome volunteers from the parent body to partake in the many activities which take place during the academic year.

All parents and guardians of students in the college are members of the Parents’ Association.  Here are some of our objectives:

  • Encouraging parents and guardians to take an active interest in the College
  • Fostering co-operation and communication between the College and parents and guardians
  • Supporting and initiating activities in tandem with the College
  • Promoting role of parents and guardians as primary educators

The College allocates a proportion of fees each year to the Parents’ Association to carry out its work, which includes hosting social events, inviting guest speakers, and funding projects that enhance the day-to-day College lives of students.

How the Parents’ Association is Organised:

  • The Parents’ Association’s Annual General Meeting is held at the start of each new School academic year where accounts and reports are presented, and new Committee Members are elected.
  • Two representatives from each year are elected annually at the AGM in September and they may serve up to a two-year term.
  • The Association meets monthly, and the Headmaster, a Deputy Headmaster and parent representative from Board of Management also attends.
