The Potter and the Clay – Reflection Evening for Parents – Thursday 19th October

A new sacred space began again last Thursday for our Parents. Twenty people attended the meditation and prayer in the chapel. Facilitated by Debbie Moore Borland, the theme was the Potter and the Clay with a focus on self-care. Hospitality was offered and welcomed by all, and the conversations flowed. The evening provided a space for great peer support for the many new parents and a desire to learn more about Ignatian spirituality.

Some comments from our parents:

“We sat in a circle around the altar in Belvedere College Chapel as the low sun outside illuminated the interior beauty. Debbie gently led the way in prayerful guidance to the Potters House. As we moulded and shaped the piece of clay in our hands and listened to the words, I was reminded that our lives and attitudes can too be reshaped and remoulded. Nothing is set in stone!”

“I particularly enjoyed the reflection on Thursday where we were encouraged to allow God to be the Potter and we were the clay. The beauty of this was that God is firmly holding us in his hands. I also really enjoyed the cuppa and chat afterwards”.
