Garda Vetting for students (16-18yrs)

See below for steps for Parents/Guardians to follow:

Important: Vetting can only begin once the student has turned 16.

The process generally takes 1-2 weeks but can take up to 4-6 weeks if there is a back log of applications to the vetting bureau.

See below for steps for Parents/Guardians to follow:

Step 1: Complete the JMB Validation Form NVB3 available here

Fill in JMB Validation Form carefully, following instructions provided
Please use a parent email address on the form and not student email address.
Return the original hard copy of the NVB3 form, along with a copy of Birth Certificate:

Step 2: Parent/Guardian Receives and completes application via JMB Portal Link

Within 1–4 working days, the parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to the JMB portal
PLEASE CHECK SPAM/JUNK FOLDERS in case the email is filtered there.

Make sure to use one of these roles in the vetting roles dropdown menu:

Student placement in primary school
Assisting at extracurricular or cocurricular activities
Sports coach

Step 3: Parent/Guardian Completes the Online Application via NVB portal Link

Following completion of step 2, the parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to the JMB portal
PLEASE CHECK SPAM/JUNK FOLDERS in case the email is filtered there.
Log in to the NVB Portal via the link in the email.
Enter all required details and submit the application.

WARNING!!!! If this step is not completed by parent within 30 days, the entire process may need to be restarted.

Step 4: Vetting Disclosure Sent to School

Once the application is submitted and the NVB has finished processing, a vetting disclosure will be sent directly to the school.
The parent/guardian can see on the portal when this disclosure has been issued.
A copy can be requested by email from olawlor@belvederecollege.ie
